A Balm for Longing & Belonging
Art is a living mythic language. Informed by the many tellings of the Selkie tale in folklore, this painting is a meditation on longing and belonging, the way the wild instinctual sea calls to something in all of us.
The Selkie’s skin, her return, her refusal to be contained all are invitations to remember what feels like home, and to continue asking “What parts of myself are waiting to be called back?”
